Workshop 1:  The management of religions in the public
                       arena



How do religions get organized in the public arena? Which answers do the public authorities give to allow the religions to structure themselves? How do they manage their cultural, ritual and community requirements? Can the religions be recognized as structural element for society as a whole? Does the reminder to devote free time to God, for example, avoid society being hidebound in pure utilitarianism?
