Nowhere in the European Union is the separation between Churches, Religions and State absolute. Everywhere it is accepted that the principles of secularism confirm the respective autonomy of the lay and religious responsibilities. However is it conceivable to live differently in the current framework barely subject variations of the institutional relations in each country? In particular, as the European Union suggests it, is it conceivable for the political authorities to expect a contribution of Churches and Religions on the key issues of the societies’ future?

How should the views of the churches evolve in a moving world, so that they can be heard? As much in the form as in the way of elaboration of a message which is directed to believers as well as to the society as a whole? Which elements of method, which principles for cooperation between the hierarchy and the lay people can be sought after in that respect?
